Jorge Chávez Aréstegui
In January 2023, Mr. Jorge Chávez Aréstegui joined Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven, where he focuses on corporate and company law.
Mr. Chávez Aréstegui graduated from the University of Antwerp in 2015 as Master of Laws with distinction. During his Master, he chose a major in corporate law and a minor in tax law.
Driven by a particular interest in maritime law, Jorge Chávez Aréstegui additionally obtained an 'LLM in International Maritime Law' at Swansea University. He also won the Ince & Co Prize there and was attached as a research assistant on a university project.
To enhance his practical experience, he completed an internship in a Spanish law firm in Barcelona.
After his studies, Mr. Chávez Aréstegui first started his career as a lawyer at a niche law firm in Antwerp specialising in maritime law and port-related issues, where he worked for five years.
