A new milestone for our partner Environmental Law

We are proud to announce that our partner Mr. Yannick Grauwels has completed the Micro-credential training course in Environmental Mediation with the highest distinction at the University of Antwerp.
Environmental Mediation plays an increasingly crucial role in reconciling different interests within spatial transition projects. Thanks to this additional expertise, Mr. Grauwels can provide our clients with even better support in navigating complex permit and mediation processes, with the aim of more efficient decision-making and sustainable, supported spatial development.
Environmental Mediator
While the new expert committee for a legal and robust permit policy, among others, was recently installed by Minister Jo Brouns and Minister Melissa Depraetere, a new group of Environmental Mediators, including our partner Environmental Law, Mr. Yannick Grauwels, graduated yesterday from the University of Antwerp.
The Environmental Mediator plays a crucial role in reconciling different interests in large and small-scale spatial transition projects. Through preventive and curative mediation between different actors in complex spatial processes, we can accelerate decision-making together and at the same time create ecological, social, spatial and societal added value.
The idea? Environmental Mediators attempt to offer a solution for the current permit process, which in some cases seems more like a form of ‘organised conflict’. The creation of support, participation and the realisation of mutual dependency in the development of our (scarce) space is essential here.
The training not only offered Mr. Grauwels valuable insights and concrete tools for his professional growth, but also inspired conversations and collaborations.
